AAC to AC3
With this tutorial you'll have the right channel mapping in your AC3 file:
CH 1 2 3 4 5 6
AAC C L R Ls Rs LFE
WAV L R C LFE Ls Rs
AC3 L C R LFE Ls Rs

Tools needed:

FAAD2

FAAD2 is used for encoding the 6CH AAC file to a 6CH WAV file, the output wav is correct mapped and with WAVE_FORMAT_EXTENSIBLE header (accepted by Aften).

Usage

FAAD2 is a commandline program so you have to type what the program should do.

To open a commandline program you can't just dubble-click on the application, you have to open it through the commandline.
If you're using Windows 7 or Vista you can shift+right-click on the folder where the faad.exe file is and then choose 'Open command window here', a black window appears. If you're using Windows XP you have to navigate to the folder where the faad.exe is. You can do that by opening a run-window (win-key + r) and type:

cmd

And hit Enter.
Once the black window is opened type: (Change the folderWithFAAD2 in de actual path to the folder where faad.exe is in).

cd c:\folderWithFAAD2\

Copy the AAC file to the same folder as the faad.exe (for simplicity). And optionally change the filename in 'input.aac'.

Now type in de command window the following:

faad input.aac -o output.wav
input.aac file info:
ADTS, 7671.765 sec, 354 kbps, 48000 Hz
